Sandpiper Bay Florida

Travelers seeking a sun-filled vacation can enjoy Club Med’s “premium sports” family resort, Sandpiper Bay in Florida, which offers highly acclaimed golf, tennis, volleyball and triathlon academies. Here is a recent review, from a guest who gave it five stars on Trip Advisor.

“This great all inclusive resort is the only Club Med in the US. If you want to learn how to fly on the trapeze or be any kind of high act in the circus ….this is the place to be. The best thing is that there are numerous clubs here for all ages. You just drop the little one off in the morning and you can be carefree and footloose all day, knowing that the Club Med (Gracious Organizers) will take good care of the kids while you are out golfing, or attending the tennis academy or sailing or just lying by the adult pool.

Food is plentiful and the drinks are not the usual watered down types of all inclusives in the Caribbean. Best of all, this resort is close to home in the US…no passport…no TSA (unless you live far enough away to have to fly). It is close enough to Orlando to start or end your vacation at Disney. It’s a little piece of international culture close to home. Most of the employees have worked for Club Med for years in other parts of the world so you will hear French, Spanish, Greek, Chinese and a myriad of other languages too.Lots of fun!”

Punta Cana Dominican Republic

Of course, Club Med, famous since the swingin’ sixties, has resorts all over the place–more exotic destinations such as Club Med Ixtapa Pacific in Mexico, the recently renovated Club Med Columbus Isle in the Bahamas or Club Med Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, which just announced an exclusive partnership with Cirque du Soleil to bring an ultimate circus-inspired experience to guests of all ages in June 2015. Here is one traveler’s opinion of his recent Club Med Punta Cana experience:

Club Med lives up to its true value proposition having spent a week with my family at the resort. Every day was jammed packed with activities for the young and old. And you are never short of ideas to do something or do nothing. They made the Internet connection so damn slow that you gave up trying to get connected to work but to just enjoy the fun filled activities. That I thought was a clever trick. Room was not exceptional but otherwise acceptable. The GOs were awesome and you were made to feel at ease and at home all the time.”

As part of the all-inclusive program in Punta Cana, adults and children will be able to train with Cirque du Soleil staff on aerial stunts and acrobatics – perfectly tying in with Club Med’s signature trapeze experience and continuing to foster the theme of “happiness”, a philosophy that has been in the brand’s DNA for over 60 years.
